Application Deadline: Internship at São Paolo (SP, Brazil) City Hall with São Paulo Carinhosa (“Caring São Paulo”)

Date and Time

February 5, 2016
All day

Institute of Politics (IOP) Director’s Internship which the Center on the Developing Child has co-sponsored with the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies (DRCLAS).

For the second year in a row, the Center and DRCLAS have co-sponsored a summer opportunity in São Paolo, Brazil, to intern at São Paolo City Hall with São Paulo Carinhosa (“Caring São Paulo”), the city government’s policy initiative for early childhood development.

This position is an excellent opportunity for students interested in social policy, public management and/or politics. It will be of special interest to students passionate about reducing poverty and inequality through public services such as education, public health, and social assistance, and the science of child development including neurobiology. The intern will gain first-hand experience with the analysis, development and projection of early childhood development programs in the context of political campaigns and upcoming municipal elections. Please feel free to forward to any undergraduates in your network who possess the required qualifications (including an advanced ability to speak and write in Portuguese), invite them to visit the IOP’s website, and encourage them to apply. We are aware that many students are away and will return from winter break just as the application deadline approaches which is Friday, February 5, 2016 at 11:59 p.m.

This 2016 internship is offered through one of the Kennedy School’s Institute of Politics’ signature programs, the Director’s Internship program. Since 1995, the IOP has partnered with high-profile organizations and elected officials around the world to provide substantive, career-oriented summer internships for undergraduate students interested in politics, government, and public service. This summer the IOP is offering 100 Director’s Internships, which are fully funded by the IOP in the amount of $4000. IOP Director's Interns are responsible for completing 8-10 weeks of full-time work.
